Hearing loss of any degree or even total deafness need not disqualify anyone from earning a pilot's certificate. Disabled Sports USA

A national nonprofit, 501(c)(3), organization established in 1967 by disabled Vietnam veterans to serve the war injured. DS/USA now offers nationwide sports rehabilitation programs to anyone with a permanent physical disability. Activities include winter skiing, water sports, summer and winter competitions, fitness and special sports events. Participants include those with visual impairments, amputations, spinal cord injury, dwarfism, multiple sclerosis, head injury, cerebral palsy, and other neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions.

National Arts and Disability Center

The NADC is the national information dissemination, technical assistance and referral center specializing in the field of arts and disability. National Disability Sports Alliance

The NDSA is the National Coordinating Body for competitive sports for individuals with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries and survivors of stroke. NDSA was originally formed as the United Cerebral Palsy Athletic Association (USCPAA) in 1987. I call myself an Electronic Voice Painter because I use my voice as the primary tool to create my work. I do this through a voice recognition program, and a basic Microsoft paint program. Special Olympics

United States Cerebral Palsy Athletic Association

As the National Governing Body for cerebral palsy sports, USCPAA is responsible for conduct and administration of approved sports in the United States. USCPAA formulates the rules, implements policies and procedures, conducts national championships in twelve sports, disseminates safety and sports medicine information and selects the athletes to represent the United States in international competition.

U.S. Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association

The U.S. EWHA is a non-profit 501 (C) 3 corporation, and member of Disabled Sports USA, dedicated to allowing many participants the opportunity to play electric (power) wheelchair hockey. Our sport is called PowerHockey™. Our Mission: To provide a quality hockey program for persons who require the use of an electric (power) wheelchair in daily life.

U.S. Handcycling Federation

The United States Handcycling Federation was formed in July, 1998 after participants and other supporters at the 1998 National Handcycling Championships (the first ever) came together with the goal of developing a national governing body for the sport. Represented by Wheelchair Sports USA, handcycling was added as a full medal sport at the IPC Worlds, and the newly-formed U.S. National Team managed to pick up 4 medals at the championships. Now in it's third year, the USHF has expanded the Board of Directors, and we are in the process of creating an Advisory Board, and a few staff positions...

VSA arts of New Mexico is part of an international network of VSA arts organizations, coordinated through a headquarters office in Washington, D.C. and affiliated with The John F. Wheelchair Sports USA

FOUNDED IN 1956 Wheelchair Sports, USA, now in its 42nd year. In the early days, many wheelchair basketball players saw participation in individual wheelchair sports as supplementary training for their primary interest in basketball. However, the Wheelchair Sports, USA, program appealed to even greater numbers of athletes with disabilities because it was able to incorporate women and quadriplegics (those with paralysis in upper as well as lower extremities); two populations which basketball could not reasonably accommodate at that time.
