MONTANA
"Our communities are facing some of their toughest challenges ever. Volunteerism is what makes America work -- by involving volunteers, you can make your community stronger, healthier, and more accessible to more people." Judy Martz, Governor
"Improving and Protecting the Health, Well-Being and Self-Reliance of All Montanans." Divisions include: Addictive and Mental Disorders, Child and Family Services, Child Support Enforcement, Disability Services, Health Policy and Services, Human and Community Services, and Senior and Long Term Care.
The purpose of the Department of Labor and Industry is to promote the well-being of Montana's workers, employers, and citizens, and to uphold their rights and responsibilities.
Montana's thrust for providing services to persons with developmental disabilities calls for self-determination and individual participation in life's decisions about where to work, how to play, and where to live. It also calls for community settings and integration with non-disabled people.
It is the intent of the SILC to develop and implement a State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) that will: Make independent living a reality for Montanans with disabilities by promoting and practicing a philosophy of consumer control, development of peer relationships and peer role models, self-determination, self-help, equal access, and advocacy in order to maximize independence, integration and full inclusion of persons with disabilities into mainstream Montana.
MonTech provides free, confidential information about assistive technology devices and services for Montanans of all ages.
Agency Goal: Increase the ability of Montanans to prepare to meet their own long term care needs, or the long term care needs of a relative or friend.
