Funding Sources


Able Data

Able Data is a federally funded project whose primary mission is to provide information on assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment available from domestic and international sources to consumers, organizations, professionals, and caregivers within the United States. The site includes An Informed Consumer Guide on Funding for Assistive Technology.



Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Grants

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is responsible for federal programs that promote the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities.



AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs that meet critical needs in education, public safety, hetitleh, and the environment. AmeriCorps members serve through nonprofits, public agencies, and faith-based organizations. They tutor and mentor youth, build affordable housing, teach computer skills, clean parks and streams, run after-school programs, and help communities respond to disasters. AmeriCorps is part of the Corporation for National and Community Service, which also oversees Senior Corps and Learn and Serve America.



AoA Grant Programs

Each year, Congress appropriates funds for use by Administration on Aging and the other Federal Agencies in carrying out their mission. AoA provides grant funding to States and territories, recognized Native American Tribes and Hawaiian Americans, as well as nonprofit organizations, including faith-based and academic institutions. Individuals are not eligible to apply for AoA funding.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance

The online Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance gives you access to a database of all Federal programs available to State and local governments (including the District of Columbia); federally-recognized Indian tribal governments; Territories (and possessions) of the United States; domestic public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions; specialized groups; and individuals.



Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (DoL)

The President's faith-based and community initiative is about leveling the playing field so all grassroots organizations have equal opportunity to participate in existing federally funded programs as they serve their communities.



Center for Health Care Strategies

The Center for Health Care Strategies promotes high quality health care services for low-income populations and people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. We achieve this objective through awarding grants and providing "real world" training and technical assistance to state purchasers of publicly financed health care, health plans, and consumer groups. Our projects aim to improve access to care, increase the use of effective preventive care services, prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and institutionalizations, promote clinical quality, and build organizational capacity to improve managed care services.



Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

The CMS is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. CMS runs the Medicare and Medicaid programs - two national health care programs that benefit about 75 million Americans. And with the Health Resources and Services Administration, CMS runs the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), a program that is expected to cover many of the approximately 10 million uninsured children in the United States.



Chronicle of Philanthropy

Featuring: The Chronicle Guide to Grants, an electronic database of all corporate and foundation grants listed in The Chronicle of Philanthropy since 1995.



Commonwealth Fund

The Commonwealth Fund is a private foundation that supports independent research on health and social issues and makes grants to improve health care practice and policy. The Fund is dedicated to helping people become more informed about their health care, and improving care for vulnerable populations such as children, elderly people, low-income families, minority Americans, and the uninsured.

Community of Science (COS)

The Community of Science is a global registry designed to provide accurate, timely, easy-to-access information about what new funding opportunities exist, and who is working on what subject, and where.



Dept. of Labor Work Incentive Grants

This notice contains all of the necessary information and forms needed to apply for grant funding.



Department of Veteran Affairs

Of the 25 million veterans currently alive, nearly three of every four served during a war or an official period of hostility. HEATH

The HEATH Resource Center of The George Washington University, Graduate School of Education and Human Development, is the national clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities. Support from the U.S. Department of Education enables the clearinghouse to serve as an information exchange about educational support services, policies, procedures, adaptations, and opportunities at American campuses, vocational-technical schools, and other postsecondary training entities.



Health Resources and Services Administration Grants & Cooperative Agreements

Health Resources and Services Administration - U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Program and application information on all HRSA grant offerings planned for FY 2003. Published in the Federal Register August 9, 2002. Please bookmark this page and check back for updates, including information on applying for HRSA grants on-line, scheduled for some programs in FY 2003.



International Reading Association Teacher as Researcher Grant

The Teacher as Researcher Grant supports classroom teachers in their inquiries about literacy and instruction. Grants will be awarded up to US$5,000, although priority will be given to smaller grants (e.g., $1,000 to $2,000) in order to provide support for as many teacher researchers as possible.

National Resource Center for Respite and Crisis Care Programs

The need for respite and crisis care continues to grow. As the trend towards deinstitutionalization continues more and more families are caring for members with disabilities and chronic health care conditions at home. As the costs of long-term care continue to rise, respite and crisis care services are increasingly recognized as a cost effective way to help preserve families and protect children and dependent adults at risk of abuse or neglect. At the same time that federal programs which could potentially provide funding to states for these services have grown, these federal funding sources have become more challenging for states and local programs to identify and access.

American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF)

ASM International Foundation

ASM’s mission is to excite young people worldwide in materials careers.
