AoA is the Federal focal point and advocate agency for older persons and their concerns. Through information and referral and outreach efforts at the community level, AoA seeks to educate older people and their caregivers about the benefits and services available to help them.
The Administration on Developmental Disabilities ensures that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families participate in the design of and have access to culturally competent services, supports, and other assistance and opportunities that promotes independence, productivity, and integration and inclusion into the community.

The CMS is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. And with the Health Resources and Services Administration, CMS runs the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), a program that is expected to cover many of the approximately 10 million uninsured children in the United States.

The President's Committee on Mental Retardation (PCMR) is a federal advisory committee, established by presidential executive order to advise the President of the United States and the Secretary of Health and Human Services on issues concerning citizens with mental retardation, and coordinate activities between different federal agencies and assess the impact of their policies upon the lives of citizens with mental retardation and their families.
